Golden Age 1946 Majestic Model 5A410 Bakelite AM Tube Radio Sweet and Nostalgic!
DESCRIPTION: This vintage tabletop tube AM radio was manufactured by Majestic in 1939 to 1946 timeframe in stunning original factory molded brown bakelite! Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in very good condition with no chips or scratches. There is a hairline crack on the right side in back barely visible. This radio is over 70 years old! The tuning knob and volume knobs are in perfect condition and securely attached. The volume knob and tuning knobs are are fantastic torpedo design, look at the close up! The clear dial face is excellent condition with no stress cracks and not even slightly yellowed, crystal clear. Please see the photo close-up. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering or 'Majestic' logo. Amazing. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Beautiful functional dial light. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The most amazing thing is; this radio flimsy cardboard backing board is in nearly pristine condition with crisp square corners no fatigue, water stains, mold stains, or rips. Sweet! The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
