Widow Black and Red Mid Century Vintage 1955 Zenith R521Y AM Vacuum Tube Clock Radio Works Great and Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Zenith in 1955 in excellent working and physical condition. Top of the line model back in the day with full function clock and dual tuning and clock dial lights!
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded black Bakelite and red plastic front grill. Sharp! All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Beautiful low sleek profile. Cabinet is glossy. The red grill louver is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or broken vanes. Clock and tuning clear covers are in excellent condition no cracks no chips no major scratches and securely attached. Tuning and clock dial faces are in excellent condition.
KNOBS: Original matching knobs securely attached in excellent condition no tarnishing no missing metal inserts. All four the little round clock and dimmer buttons are original and intact and securely attached. No stripped internal post slots.
LOGO: Zenith factory paint filled molded-in logo is in excellent condition. Zenith center crest logo is in excellent condition.
DIAL LIGHT: Tuning dial light works. Replaced with modern long lasting LED bulbs. Clock dimmer light works and adjustable brightness. Also new LED bulb.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The new replacement power cord and polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: The backing board is factory original. No ripped corners. No missing factory t-pins.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom labels. All labels 95% intact. Yellowed but readable.
