Sage Green Mid Century Vintage 1958 Zenith A519F AM Vacuum Tube Alarm Clock Radio Works Great! Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Zenith in 1958 in excellent physical and working condition. Very rare color combo in this model.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Super loud and clear player!
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded sage green back and white front plastic. All original molded factory colors through and through. Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. No cracks, no chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Beautiful low sleek profile. Cabinet is glossy. White checkerboard faceted grid front is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. Clock and tuning clear cover is in very good condition. No chips and securely attached. Not missing two little gold decorative disks, usually missing. Gold painted edge is in very ggod condition with some tarnishing. The clock tuning clear cover has spiderweb micro-cracks across the front of the sunburst pattern.
KNOBS: Volume and tuning knobs are securely attached with perfect condition metal inserts and no broken attach posts. Gold metal inserts both intact not missing.
LOGO: Zenith center crest logo is in excellent condition.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning dial light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: Cock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Wake to radio or radio and buzzer. Sleep timer works. Tuning and clock dial face is shiny gold in very good condition with water stains. Clock arms are original white, not tarnished or rusted, securely attached.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static free performance in the future. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: The backing board is in excellent condition with no ripped corners and very stiff and all original four t-pin fasteners. Often these backing boards are missing or barely hanging on and missing t-pins.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom label is almost perfect.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
