Kona Brown Bakelite 1939 RCA Victor Model 46X11 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Sounds Great!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by RCA Victor in 1939-40 in excellent working condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. Has repaired cracks on top and sides. No chips, or major scratches. This brown Bakelite cabinet is beautiful no scuffs no swirly micro scratches. Original factory molded color no repaints no over spray and no touch ups. None needed. Knobs are original and securely attached. This vintage radio plays great with or without an external antenna attachment. This radio is over 75 years old! All the dial numbers are crisp and clear. Volume on/off switch works. Tone/aux selector works although the difference between hi and low tone attenuation is imperceptible.. The tuning dial cover is clear no yellowing no cracks. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine. No slipping. So neat! All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Bottom factory label is mostly missing. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The replacement power cord and safety polarized plug is in excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. Antenna loop is attached to an acrylic replacement backing board The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
