Burgundy Maroon 1955 Zenith "Broadway" Model R511R AM Vacuum Tube Radio Sounds Great Looks Like a Star!

DESCRIPTION: Vintage tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith is in 1955 in excellent plus working and physical condition. Looks gorgeous with its dial light.

CABINET CONDITION: All original factory molded dark red color plastic. Factory original molded colors through and through. Not repainted or no touch up. No cracks, chips or major scratches anywhere on cabinet. No hairline crack beginning on the back top edge which is common with this model. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The built in contrasting ivory handle is functional and intact with no cracks and no chips. Light tarnish of the gold grill with no dents or dings. Some rust pimples and oxidation spots. 

KNOBS: All knobs are original and securely attached. Factory molded ivory plastic volume On/Off and tuning knobs are matching and not missing the gold inserts. Original brass color metal tuning pointer is missing.

DIAL LIGHT: Dial light tuning indicator lights brightly. Follows the arc of the tuning pointer. Nice!

BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is intact with crisp square edges.

FACTORY LABELS: Bottom factory label is intact, legible, though water stained.

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. 

POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are excellent original physical and working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. 

PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
