DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in the 1955 time frame in excellent physical and working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: This radio picks up AM stations real clearly and very loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded candy apple green color plastic. All original factory molded colors through and through. No repaints no touch-ups no over sprays. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Front gold metal grill is in excellent condition with no rust, dents, or dings.
KNOBS: Factory original ivory volume and tuning knobs with gold metal inserts are matching and securely attached. No cracked posts. Tuning dial stations gold metal pointer is original. Top handle is original ivory color plastic no cracks, no chips, strong and secure. Metal handle buckles are rusted. All six (6) station preset buttons are original matching ivory and work as designed. You wIll need to set stations to your locale as appropriate. Push button inner ring cushion felts are not missing except but one partially.
LOGO: No missing logos. Zenith logo is filled in with factory original ivory paint.
DIAL LIGHT: Tuning light works as designerd and follows arc of tuning pointer. Nifty!
CLOCK: no clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The replacement power cord and plug are in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Color matching back cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing factory labels.
PROVENANCE: Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or carpet.
