DESCRIPTION: More often found in turquoise and white and coral and white. This black and white original factory color combo is rare. Actually, this model is rare in any color combination. Multi-contoured profile with large concave grill is a unique looking design. Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Admiral in 1953-54 time frame in good overall physical condition and excellent working condition. 

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. This model features a 6" speaker cone for improved sound quality.

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is molded Bakelite repainted in original black and white color combo. Repaired hairline crack on front bottom edge. Front lower right corner has small chip. No chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. Front replacement gold mesh grill is repainted in original factory gold color.

KNOBS: Tuning and and volume knobs are ivory yellowed with age and normal use. No missing center caps not designed with them. Tuning disc pointer is in excellent condition with no cracks no scratches and securely mounted. 

LOGO: No missing Admiral logos. 

DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock dial lights. Not designed with this one. But can be added for an extra charge.

CLOCK: No clock

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.

POWER CORD: The new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.

BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition and securely mounted. Factory printing is faded.

FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: bottom factory label is over-sprayed and partially missing.

PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
