Aquamarine Turquoise Late 50s Silvertone Model Unknown Vacuum Tube FM Only Radio Sounds Terrific! Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube FM radio manufactured by Silvertone in late 50s time frame in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up FM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. This is NOT an AM radio.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded aqua front and white back plastic. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. No cracks or major scratches or missing pieces. Factory original grill is in excellent condition. Front control panel fascia is silver and is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, or major scratches and securely attached.
KNOBS: The tuning knob is in excellent condition with no cracks, or chips or warping. Center gold metal insert is not missing. Usually these go missing over the years. No broken attachment posts. Original clear plastic volume knob is missing the gold metal cap. No worn off lettering.
LOGO: Silvertone logo emblem is in excellent condition.
DIAL LIGHT: None, but one can be added, see below.
CLOCK: None.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board. Not designed with one. White plastic back cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, major scratches or melted vents.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom factory label is missing.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
