DESCRIPTION: Next to true purples (not maroon) and yellows (not ivory), true orange (not orang-ish coral or salmon) are the rarest of original molded plastic radio colors of the late fifties to sixties. This Heathkit was project radio using the highest quality components inside and out! Hours of fun for dad and lad (or sis) while learning about electronics! Solid state AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Heathkit in late fifties early sixties in excellent condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in very good condition with no chips, major scratches, or missing plastic. There are abrasions on the top like the cord was wrapped around it for as long time and left an impression. Originally factory molded in orange. No repaints, touch-ups, or oversprays. No cracks, chips, or major scratches any where on the cabinet. No repairs, no repaints, none needed. This radio is over 50 years old! The knobs are in excellent condition. The clear dial face has no stress cracks. Please see the photo close-up. The orange tweed grill is in excellent with no runs no rips or fraying. The clock bezel is clear and transparent not yellowing. The clock dial face is a little bumpy where it has separated from the adhesive backing. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering. No dial light seems like it stopped working but it blinks once in a while. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All original knobs are securely attached. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time for a mechanical analog design. The clock motor is quiet. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. The transistors are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. This thing belongs in a museum!
