Laguna Aqua 1959 Medallion Model 5583 Vacuum Tube AM Clock Radio Beauty Sounds Fantastic Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Medallion in 1959 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Very rare manufacurer and design in rare original factory molded turquoise color.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded turquoise plastic. No cracks, chips or major scratches or major scratches on the back piece. Front grill piece has a hairline crack above the clock. Clear plastic clock cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, inclusions, or major scratches. Clock black color cover in very good condition with some paint flaking by the knob posts. Clock function lettering is excellent condition with no rub off. Color matching back cover is in excellent plus condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches. No melted heat vanes. Front gold metal control panel is a replacement in excellent condition. Littl bright red tuning pointer is original in excellent condition.
KNOBS: All original matching volume and tuning knobs. Original gold metal inserts are in excellent condition with tarnish no rust. Clock ginction knobs are original matching and securely attached. Little Repeat button is original, yellowed, securely attached.
LOGO: No missing logos. Front black factory Medallion logo is in very good condition.
DIAL LIGHT: Original dial light works and lights brightly! Replacement LED bulb will not need to be replaced for years! The tuning dial light follows the movement of the tuning pointer. Nifty!
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer works. Sleep timer works. Repeat button works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Has original built in metal screen heat shield. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original gray power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. Base interconnect not fatigued.

PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. Was probably used in or near the kitchen for much of its life.
