DESCRIPTION: This radio is very romantic revival looking from the mid to late sixties. Think Dusty Springfield, ruffled tuxedo collars and lots of heavy mascara. Lots of curious design elements that seem to come together. In less capable hands, this concept would probably not fly but Arvin kinda pulled it off. Tabletop Tube AM radio manufactured by Arvin in 1960's excellent working condition. Cabinet is original powder cornflower blue, called "wedgewood blue." The front gold metal trim is in excellent condition. Look at the frilly gold design on the front! Very Liberace. The clock movement is in a lemon shaped cavity with gold eye surround. No cracks on the top! There is some very faint discoloration on top due to two cigarette burns, I think. No cracks on front clock bezel. Knobs are original and securely attached. This radio is over 60 years old! No dial light. Not designed with one. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial on top works fine. The power cable is securely attached. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Alarm works. Clock time set knob works. Sleep function works. Clock is silent. All knobs are present and securely attached. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets.
