DESCRIPTION: This vintage radio manufactured by General Electric in 1959 time frame in excellent physical and working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded white color plastic. No cracks or major scratches anywhere on the cabinet. The bottom front right foot is chipped off but the radio still sits stable and level. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted, no over spray, no touch up. None needed. Front black clock face is in excellenmt condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent. Clock and alarm set functions work. Sleep function works. Wake to radio or alarm works.
KNOBS: Factory original tuning and volume knobs are in excellent condition. Two original matching clear clock function knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. No broken flaps. No stripped inner notches.
LOGO: Factory General Electric logo is in excellent condition.
DIAL LIGHT:Dial light works and follows the path of the tuning pointer. Neat! Replaced with modern LED for long life.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static free performance in the future. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backingbaord. Not designed with one. The color matching back cover is in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, or chips or melted heat vanes.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing factory labels. Botrtom factory label is mostly intact.
