Curved Wood 1939 Firestone Model S-7398-1 "The Beaumont" Vacuum Tube AM Radio Excellent Condition! Sounds Great!
DESCRIPTION: Beautiful tabletop vacuum tube AM vacuum tube radio manufactured by Firestone in 1939 in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory constructed solid wood cabinet with beautiful front curved speaker grill section. Fancy wood grain trim on top and bottom edges. Ornate elaborate speaker carvings has very classic look. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. All original factory aligned wood pieces. Not re-glued. Not repainted, no touch up not over sprayed. Original factory clear finish is thin, chipped, and age-checked throughout. The colors came this way from the factory. Wood trim tuning window is in excellent condition, no cracks, no chips, and securely attached. Original factory grill cloth is in excellent condition with no rips, no major stains, couple small holes. Tuning clear plastic dial window has been replaced and securely attached.
KNOBS: Original matching factory plastic tuning and volume knobs are securely attached. Tuning dial works fine no slipping, stuck, or sticky spots. Volume on/off switch is original and securely attached.
LOGO: No missing logos. Original factory decals are in excellent condition. Volume and Tuning decals are in excellent original condition.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial light work and light up brightly.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The replacement power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Replacement backing board. Looks like it was DIY homemade by previous owner. Original cardboard back cover is missing.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Original factory labels are intact.
