DESCRIPTION: Rare original factory green stained wood cabinet. Tabletop vacuum tube AM vacuum tube radio manufactured by Zenith in 1946 in excellent working and physical condition.

This green Zenith 6D029 is rarer than the one seen in "Rebel Without A Cause (1955) starring James Dean and Natalie Wood.

 

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. 

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory constructed solid wood cabinet that has been finished with green stain on the side panels. No chips or major scratches or missing pieces. There are small seams between the pieces of side wood due to temperature expansion over time but the cabinet is solid no re-glued panbels. All original factory aligned wood pieces. Not reglued. Not repainted, no touch up not over sprayed. The colors came this way from the factory. Gold trim molded plastic front tuning window is in excellent condition, no cracks, no chips, and securely attached. Original factory grill cloth is in very good condition with no rips, no major stains, couple small holes. 

KNOBS: Original matching factory plastic tuning and volume knobs are securely attached no broken attach posts. Tuning dial works fine no slipping, stuck, or sticky spots. Volume on/off switch is original and securely attached.

LOGO:  No missing logos. Original factory decals are in excellent condition

DIAL LIGHT: Two (2) dial lights work and light up brightly. 

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.

POWER CORD: The replacement power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. 

BACKING BOARD: No backing board. Original cardboard back cover is missing.

FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Original factory labels are intact.
