Western Wood 1936 Emerson Model 132A AM Vacuum Tube Radio Hopalong Cassidy Would Approve!
DESCRIPTION: Rare and resplendent vintage radio with ornate deco flair a little western looking even! Imagine hearing the broadcasts of Hopalong Cassidy when all things cowboy were the craze. Beautiful AM Tabletop tube clock radio manufactured by Emerson in the 1936 time frame still in excellent+ working and physical condition. This radio has a very golden age of radio look. No cracks, splits, abrasions anywhere on the cabinet! The dial light lights up brightly and looks great! Lovingly refinished top to bottom and polished to a smooth mirror piano like finish. All knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing and securely attached. Original grill fabric is snugly attached, no rips, no fraying, no smells, no discoloration. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial with an external wire antenna which is included. Any long household wire will improve reception further. Original brown molded facade is in excellent condition no cracks. The volume and tuning knobs are original matching bakelite, securely attached. This radio is over 80 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Original dial cover plastic is clear no cracks no warping slightly yellowed. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Original wood backing board is extremely hard to find. Most go missing over the years. The replacement power cord and plug is in good working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
