Marbled Brown Bakelite Vintage 1946 Philco Transitone 46-200 AM Radio Drop Dead Mint!

DESCRIPTION: This is one of the more recognizable and popular designs from the 40s. In the years just after the war, a new radio was at the top of every new family's list. It was the iPad of its day. Philco nailed the entry market with this design. Very proportioned and sounds great! Relatively easy to service with loctal tubes! This particular one is rare marbled brown bakelite, like it was a manufacturing anomaly. Usually, this model is just solid brown bakelite. This radio is in such pristine condition, it's eerie. Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Philco in the 1946 timeframe still in excellent cosmetic and working condition. Dial lights up brightly. The original knobs are matching brown plastic securely attached. No chips, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! This vintage radio is in the original factory color brown marbled bakelite. All original knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. The backing boards from these Philco 46, 47,48, 49-200s are missing 9 times out of 10. This one has its original backing board. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Excellent art deco design! This radio is over 65 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Clear dial plastic is original no hazing or no yellowing and no cracks. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. The original bottom label is intact. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The new replacement power cord and plug is in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
