DESCRIPTION: Torn between a black or a white clock radio? A shabby or chic lifestyle? How about having both! If you're doing the shabby chic thing with retro look, you don't want to miss out on this puppy. Is this clock radio cute or what! Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Knight in the 1950's excellent working condition. I can't find the model number. Cabinet is an original molded black bakelite with original factory painted white clock face. Clear transparent clock bezel. Very unique styling but good looking. There is a chip on the front top edge approximately 1/4". There are a few chips here and there on the edges. No major cracks, splits, major chips or missing material. No cabinet repairs or repaints. Tuning knob is original. Volume is a replacement. This radio is over 60 years old! No dial light. Not designed with one. The tuning dial works fine no slipping. The power cable is securely attached. The power cord is in good working condition. Backing board is a non-original heavier replacement 1/4" fiber board. Clock is quiet and keeps accurate time. Alarm works. Clock and alarm set works. Sleep function works. This design comes with appliance timer which probably works but hasn't been tested. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment with no pets.
