DESCRIPTION: If you remember sitting in Grandma's kitchen and hearing her radio in the background, this is that radio. Grandma took care of her things too judging by the condition of this radio that is almost 70 years old. Original Motorola factory decals. Not added on by some previous owner. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Motorola in 1940 in excellent+ physical and working condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Wood cabinet is in excellent plus condition. Grill and grill cloth is in excellent condition with no dents, dings, rust, or warping. Motorola label on front tuning glass is in excellent condition with no flaking or rub off. The knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial lettering. One of the petals of the flower in the lower right hand corner is missing. Also on the flower in the lower right side is missing part of its petal. The clear bezel is securely attached no cracks or scratches. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. The tuning indicator button is in excellent condition.Tuning dial light works and lights brightly! All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. The lower right corner is missing a flap. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets.
