Beige Marble 1948 General Electric Model 114W Vacuum Tube Radio Terrific Sounding!
DESCRIPTION: This is one loud and clear sounding beast. Larger than most designs. Usually, these larger plastic GE's are cracked but not this one. Vintage 1948 tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by GE in excellent+ working and physical condition. No cracks, large chips, or major scratches. Original factory molded ivory color through and through. Not repainted. No over spray no touch up. None needed. This radio picks up AM stations real clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Dial light works and lights brightly. The knobs of this vintage tube radio are original. The one on the right has been broken and repaired and the other one is in excellent condition. The capacitors been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. New power cord and polarized plug has no cracks, or splits. Original backing board is intact in excellent condition. Bottom factory labels are not missing. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
